IN THIS MONTH'S FAMILY MATTERS ...
“They really do give you the key to a new life … it’s just, do you want to pick it up and open the door.”
- Isaiah, a participant in our Bridge to Construction program,
in our Annual Report's Workforce Development video feature
Transform lives with us at Mpower the Night!
The 41st Annual Mpower the Night welcomes our guests back to Metropolitan Family Services with an in-person celebration of community connection! Join the Metropolitan family as we highlight the achievements of our families and the impact of our programs, which empower communities to learn, earn, heal and thrive.
Metropolitan recognizes Domestic Violence Awareness Month
October was Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and our staff and communities across Metropolitan heartily participated as part of our commitment to a culture where we are all safe, empowered and free from domestic violence.
We worked with community partners like Redstone Grill in Oakbrook, whose menu promotion raised $5,000 to benefit our DuPage Center.
We attended outreach events and resource fairs to talk with families in our community about domestic violence and the support we offer for survivors.
We wore purple to raise awareness: see how our Midway, Southeast Chicago, and Calumet Center staff look in purple.
... and more!
We stand with survivors all year. If you or a loved one feel unsafe in a relationship, call our 24/7 Domestic Violence Hotline at (630) 469-5650.
We're pleased to welcome our incoming Board Chair, David Tropp!
A Board Member since 1994, David’s leadership shines through initiatives like our Headquarters move and our Head Start Oversight Board, and we’re looking forward to empowering families with him in this new capacity.

Thank you for celebrating pro bono and equal access to justice!
Thank you to all who contributed to the success of the Legal Aid Society’s Equal Access to Justice Award Luncheon! The Luncheon supports the critical legal services LAS provides, and celebrates the pro bono contributions that make those services possible. Together, we raised more than $425,000 to benefit LAS’s programs and the 13,000+ clients we serve.
