In the wake of Adam Toledo's shooting, our CEO, Ric Estrada, joined ABC7 Chicago for a town hall on keeping Latin@ youth safe. In a discussion moderated by Diana Palomar, ABC7 Vice President of Community Engagement and Metropolitan Board Member, speaks about his experience growing up in Little Village, and the critical importance of investing in communities to provide the resources our neighbors need to succeed.

the Colbert familyPria and Michele Colbert are two wonderful ladies who radiate resilience and strength. Active participants of our Calumet Center’s Adoption Support and Preservation Program (ASAP), Pria and Michele have consistently participated in individual and family therapy, progressing toward their goals and strengthening their mother-daughter relationship. 

Michele has strengthened her understanding and knowledge of how adoption, attachment, and trauma impacted Pria and shaped their relationship. Pria has strengthened her own understanding of adoption, while developing self-confidence and managing her emotions.
