Ribbon Cutting Held for the Newly Expanded Midway Center
We held a special ribbon cutting for our newly expanded and renovated Midway Center!
Joined by MFS board members, community partners, local representatives, and many more, we celebrated the Midway Center’s expansion from 13,700 to 20,700 square feet – a project that started over two years ago with then Executive Director, Laurie Sedio, who brought the project through the finish line with current Executive Director, Bryan Johnson.
Take a look at the exciting event that celebrates this Mpowered transformation:
Family Shelter Services Kitchen Received a Makeover
On behalf of Metropolitan DuPage, Executive Director Lisa Horne accepted a check from Illinois State Rep Stephanie Kifowit representing the capital grant she sponsored to remodel and update our Family Shelter Services kitchen for clients! This funding helped improve the functionality of the space and allows for more than one family in the kitchen to cook at a time.
"We are grateful for Rep. Kifowit's tenacious support for survivors of domestic violence and enriching their lives by making a kitchen remodel for our shelter guests a reality."
FSS of MFSD is the only agency in DuPage County that provides comprehensive services to victims of domestic violence (DV) and their families. The program serves more than 900,000 residents in 33 DuPage County communities.
